Is a Release the Same As Temporary Guardianship
My question involves guardianship in the State of:Maine
We have children residing with us that was placed here by CPS. the father signed a release with a counselor service stating we are the temporary guardians, will that hold up as temporary guardianship documentation?

Since CPS was involved, they (or "the state" more technically) are quite possibly considered the guardians.

What would be your reason for the need of proof of guardianship? You would likely need to speak with the CPS contact to inquire as to whether they or you are considered the guardians of the child. If CPS took guardianship for some reason, whatever the father signed isn't going to overrule the CPS claim of guardianship.

    Hold up where?

Depends on who you are handing it to and whether or not they accept it.
