Sued for Vandalism
My question involves criminal law for the state of: California
A few night ago, a group of girls teepee'd my house. Nobody likes fegetting teepee'd because of the mess so a group of friends and I went to one of the girls house to get revenge. However, my friends stupidly threw eggs too. The next day, the girl came looking for me and yelling that because of property damage to her vehicle's paint, we had to pay her $1,500 dollars. She said she had us on film and that if we didn't pay, she would take us to court and charge us with animal cruelty because we hit their dogs (supposedly) what I'm wondering is if we could see the video before it is in court? Or if I may be able to counter sue for the teepeeing done previously.

Re: Sued for Vandalism
You lawyer can certainly discover any evidence against you once a lawsuit is filed.
She can make a complaint on the animal cruelty charge, but it is up to the state to charge you or not.
You can certainly sue someone for your damages if they caused damage. However, your mommy always told you two wrongs do not make a right.
