Not Informed that Child Missed School Due to Illness
My question involves a child custody case from the State of: florida

custody is 50/50....I had child on monday , let him stay home due to sickness...called mother to inform her.....found out on the following monday that when she had custody on thursday and friday he did not attend school either day....I asked mother why I was not informed child stayed home...I was told "I don't need to report to you"

does she need to inform me..or is it just a case of respect to call the other parent ?

we have not had medation yet...so there is nothing formal....she has filed her parenting agreement and mine is in the process...

She has to do what the custody order provides that she must do. If there is no order, then it's a matter of courtesy.

there is no order as of this moment....but she does not inform me because she knows I will take the time off from workto stay with our son rather then having her leave the child
    with her boyfriend

is her boyfriend a child molester or otherwise harmful to children? if not you have to deal with the fact that he is now a part of the kid's lives too.

Consider a right of first refusal provision, but be careful about the terms.

And realize it can be a blessing and a curse. It's great for some families though.

first right of refusal will be in the documents if and when they ever get done......wife originally had it set at 2 hours...her lawyer changed it to 8 hours...if it was up to me it would be 15 minutes...I would spend every waking moment with my son if I could.....

Why is her lawyer dictating? I think two hours is a little short though, as well. Six is a good number in my opinion, perhaps 2 or 3 on a school night. Some people have it set at 24 hours!

You have to consider if, for example, you want kiddo to spend the night at grandpa's house. Or, later on in life kiddo has a new stepmom and a new brother/sister, and you want kiddo to be able to spend time with them on your time, even if you're not there for part of it. It can get tricky. People have this written a thousand different ways.

I just assume her lawyer suggested the change...but she has a live in boyfriend that is on disability...and does nothing with his life except jump when she snaps her fingers... so she may have changed it so she could leave our child with him verse giving me the opportunity to care for my child.....

You're missing my point. What I mean is, did she just decide that these were going to be the new terms and have her attorney put it in writing? Or was it something that she wanted to change, negotiated with you about in exchange for something else. . . Or is she just telling you how things are going to be and expecting you to accept that, and you do? Do you have an attorney also? It sounds like you don't, and she is thinking she can just tell you to roll over and you will do it.

She doesn't just get to change things that are already put in writing at her whim, but you are letting her think that she can.

parenting aggreements have not been finalized...she handed hers in and I handed mine in......she did show me a rough draft of hers that she filled out before she handed it to her attorney...that is how I know it originally stated two hours but was changed to 8 hours...which by the way I will NEVER agree to...I spent 15 years with her and her control issues....I am done... my son in the reason I breath and I will not let her mess up his future.....
