Trespassing at Michigan Central Station
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Michigan
Hello all, I was recently accused and issued a misdemeanor trespassing ticket underneath the underpass right next to michigan central station in detroit. The ticket was issued by the Canadian Pacific RailRoad Police and I am wondering if their jurisdiction could come into question in this situation? It was snowing and there were lots of footprints leading up to the fence and footprints after, they only saw me as I was walking under the bridge to go to my car and questioned me as to where my friends were. I did not say anything and after an hour of threats of taking me to jail they finally gav me the ticket. They also made it very clear that if I did not show up to court, they would come to my house and get me since they were the "railroad police" not dpd..
Any information I can get would be extremely appreciated. I would really like not to be made an example of in this situation.
Thanks!

Get a lawyer and show up for court. DO NOT SKIP EITHER OF THESE STEPS.
The Canadian Pacific Railroad is one of Matty Maroun's investors, they hold a stake in the Michigan Central Station, and the railroad police do have jurisdiction.
(Dude, I hope you got good pictures, at least. It would be a shame to get nicked, and have nothing to show for it.)
