How to Increase in Child Support in NYC
My question involves child support in the State of: New York
    hello!
I would like an increase of child support in NYC due to increased expenses and decreased income.
Its been since 2010 since the judgment of child support was done. Now my child is a teen and I am paying increased rent with a part time job. I have passbook savings of $40,000 in my son's private account. Will that be a problem? I have school loans from the past and I am currently a student as well. :grumpy: Please help!!

You should know by now that NY takes a straight percentage of the NCP's income.

If you can't get by, it's time to put school on hold and get a full time job. And downsize.

Your reduced income isn't your ex's responsibility.

Thank you for your reply. I wasn't looking for ADDITIONAL money that would not be owed to me. His salary increased and 17% is what would be calculated from his income for my child.
However my question was, would it matter if I had money in savings?
I look forward to your educated response!

Once again - your income and expenditure are not relevant.

If there has been a change in your ex's income, you may file for a modification. You didn't mention that in your first post.
