Placed in Admin Processing for B1/B2 Visa
My interview was on the 14th of Nov for a B1/B2 visa and I was placed under admin processing I finally got a call on the 11th of Jan to submitt my passport that my visa has been approved but I couldn't send in my passport as I was busy with work and also applied for a visa to Hungary.

The Hungarian embassy with held my passport from 19th of Dec and finally sent it back to me on the 8th of Feb after battling with them. Then I submitted my passport to the U.S consulate on the 11th of Feb for the stamping and was asked to come and get it on the 14th of Feb but I went and it wasn't ready I tried to track it on the passportstatus@ustraveldocs.com but it says "there is no update for the passport number submitted". So I found out I could check it on

https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status . Which I did only yesterday and found out it was on Admin processing again. I am wondering why it has gone back to Admin Processing again. I thought I was cleared for a visa? Now I'm startled and confused.

    Please advice.
    Thank you.

Your delay in submitting it for stamping was unusual. It will likely take time to retrieve the files. Give it another couple of weeks. If it is for a US business sponsored trip, your host could request assistance on your behalf.

Yes, its a US sponsored business conference trip, I missed the conference for which I applied for but have booked for another one for the 27th of Feb. So, you think I will still get the visa with no problems?

It looks odd that your initial conference was so unimportant that you would not return your passport for stamping as requested. Stating that you are traveling for another conference is suspect; it really looks to me that you are job hunting as your first priority.

First of all thank you for your replies. I work with an oil firm , we usually carry out soil testing on Oil farms accross the country. When I informed my company I was placed under admin processing and that it will take 60 - 90days or more for the process to be over, I went on to continue with my job and I usually work offshore. I am supposed to attend another conference in Hungary and Singapore significantly. I am only attending this conferences to meet with people from all aorund the world and to find new solutions to tackle the issues relating to my job.

However, I didn't tell them I am attending another conference. I have had no contact with the consulate. I only called in to know the status of my passport. So this was just some kind of circumstance.

Have your employer contact a US immigration attorney; I suggest that your employer do so because international business get more respect than an individual and they will foot the bill. If your employer is a US based company, there are other resources available to them. Their legal or HR departments will be knowledgeable about other approaches.

Another suggestion, if your home country permitssome one to have 2 passport copies simultaneously and you often have this problem with visa stampings, you should consider having two.
