What Will Show Up on My FBI Background Check
My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: Texas
I want to attain employment abroad and must provide an FBI background check. Before applying for a job, I ran a self-check to make sure my record was clean. It was not. When I was a juvenile I was arrested for possession of marijuana in a school zone, which is a class a misdameanor. I completed a deffered program, and the background check even states, "record is restricted for criminal justice purposes only 2003-05-16 deferred prosecution prb-4m." Still, I'm confused as to whether a potential employer will see my arrest record.
Any information would be appreciated.
Re: What Will Show Up on My FBI Background Check
It will depend upon the employer and the nature and extent of the background check. There's no "one size fits all" answer. From what you have told us, most employers would not be able to obtain the information about your juvenile drug charge from the court or state; but sometimes the information can be found in other ways.
