Unemployment While Attending School
My question involves unemployment benefits for the state of: California
Hi all, I am curious to know what the impact of me attending school will be on my eligiblity. I attend grad school in the evenings two nights a week with classes starting at 6pm and also Monday mornings from 9am to 11am. I had my initial interview last week and the interviewer told me that my 2 hr once-a-week morning class will likely result in me being denied benefits because it places a restriction on my availability. It doesn't seem right that I am otherwise able and willing but denied because of a 2 hr window in my schedule.
Can anyone shed some light on this or know whether there is any argument around it? Thanks in advance!
Re: Unemployment While Attending School
Did you indicate that you will apply for jobs without limitation as to the hours you would have to work? Did you indicate that, if offered a job that conflicts with school, you would drop your class and take the job?
