20 MPH Over Posted Speed, Incorrect Model of Car Listed
My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: WA

I was recently pulled over by a WA State Highway Patrol Officer on I-5 just north of Seattle and charged with going 20 MPH over the speed limit. After reviewing the ticket I noticed that the model of the car on the ticket is not the model of the car I was driving. Is this error enough of a foundation to reasonably contest the ticket and request a hearing?

    Thanks.

Its not an error that is significant enough to automatically win ... and likely not that important .. but it can be used to test the veracity of the cop's testimony .. but its a rigged system ya know.

Not likely unless he identifies your vehicle in his statement as something completely different.

    Quote:

    Quoting IRLJ 3.1
    (d) Sufficiency. No notice of infraction shall be deemed insufficient for failure to contain a definite statement of the essential facts constituting the specific infraction which the defendant is alleged to have committed, nor by reason of defects, imperfections or omissions which do not tend to prejudice substantial rights of the defendant.

    Start here.

Your best bet is to contest the infraction and serve
a discovery request on the prosecutor. See the thread above.
