Failure to Stop for a School Bus
My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: Michigan

My boyfriend and I were following a bus that had my boyfriends little brother on it. The bus had made several stops on the same road and I stoped. The bus put it's right blinker on and pulled over. The yellow lights never came on. So i proceeded to pass as i believed she was letting me go by. As soon as i passed she began to honk at me and then she flipped on her red ligths. The driveway I pulled into was only about 100 feet away from where she pulled over. when she dropped off my boyfriends little brother she wrote down my license plate number. I was obviously in no rush to get there as we were so close to the driveway and she never had her yellow lights on and when we finnally passed she then threw her reds on.
-I am fighting this ticket. I would just like to know if you believe that i can win
-and on a side note the cop delivered the ticket to me on christmas eve and i was at someone elses house. I thought that they had to deliver it to your house and I felt like it was invasion of my privacy in a few ways. is this illegal?

    Disagreeable

Embarrassing, Yes. Illegal, No. You can explain how you drove around the school bus you knew was making a stop to drop off a child.

Find out if that district records the incidents. The bus driver MUST show up to court in order for the judge to convict you (possibly a sworn affidavit, not sure what your state allows) since the officer did not witness what took place.
