    De Facto custodian question
My ex mother in law was found to be a de facto custodian of my daughter. Judge ordered me to turn over records of income to set support, but did not my ex wife. Her mother sued us both and she can walk away free and I have to pay all the support? I have switched attorneys as my original attorney said They could do that, my new attorney says no they can't. Who is right?

    Support Judgment
It likely depends upon the order. The first lawyer may be viewing the judgment as creating an obligation that is "joint and several", meaning that the whole amount can be collected from either parent. The new attorney may be looking at the judgment as creating an obligation that is not joint, such that neither of you should be responsible to pay more than your pro rata share.
