Friend Stole from Walmart While I Was with Him
My question involves criminal law for the state of: SC

My friend and I went to Walmart late in the night, we were the only customers there. He started shoplifting and was seen by an employee who followed us around. He then decided to go to the bathroom to dump everything off in there and we overheard the employees yelling about the cops being outside, he suggested we buy something to make him look innocent, and since I was worried/scared out of my mind I made a purchase on my debit card. We left and there were no cops outside and no one stopped us. I'm however scared even more so now, because he opened a bunch of items (although he did not steal anything, the cameras show him opening stuff and putting it in his pockets and me holding stuff for him, which makes me equally guilty, however I do think they found it in the bathroom as they went in when we left out) and they have my debit information, and he has also stolen stuff before from this one. What can happen? will they charge me for something even though he left everything there?

First off, your friend is guilty of theft just by the act of concealing the items with the intent to steal. You by attempting to cover up his criminal activity are a party to the crime. Yes, you can certainly be charged. You may even be convicted. I'd stay out out of that Walmart and if the police come inquiring, do not talk to them without a lawyer.

If i never go back will it be ok? Or will they hunt me down because of this? Or will they send me some kind of charge?
