Summons for Open Container, Wrong Name on the Ticket
My question involves criminal law for the state of: New York
Hey so pretty much I have received summons for walking with the cup on the street. Officer assumed it was alcohol and she told me to dump it out. Half an hour prior my wallet got stollen so I did not have any identification. Officer asked my information, but I misspelled my First and last name there are few letter differences with my actual name, I gave wrong address which I dont even think exists. And wrong date of birth. My question is if I just pay the fine will it somehow be placed on my record?
Re: Summons for Open Container, Wrong Name on the Ticket
You will have to consult a psychic.
However, given that you lied to the officer about your name, address and date of birth, if they do track you down for not paying you can expect to face additional, more serious charges.

But if I pay the fine will they have a reason to trae me down?
Re: Summons for Open Container, Wrong Name on the Ticket
They'll have less reason. It's possible that, with the fine paid, nobody would even be alerted to the fact that the information you provided was false.
