    B1/B2 Visa for Observership
    hello,

I am in a very serious confusion. I would appreciate your urgent help.

I am doctor in India. I had got B1/B2 visa (10 year multiple entry) for giving USMLE step 2 CLINICAL SKILLS exam. I visited the US for that before 6 months and stayed for 2 months and gave the exam and have passed it. Now I have lost my passport and thus, the B1/B2 visa that I had in it. I have my plans to do residency in the United States. I am very confused as to how should I now, get my visa again?
Should I simply apply for the visa and ask to renew my visa?
Or should I apply based on doing an Observership in a hospital in US?
Or should I apply based on giving an interview for medical residency which I have in a few days?

Please help me with this. I appreciate your help.

If you have found information on the website for India that says that lost visas won't be replaced and you must apply for a new visa, then that's what you're telling us you've been instructed to do. If you want us to look at the page you found, post a link.
