Florida Expungment Process for Second Degree Larceny
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Florida

Was charged with 2nd degree larceny in the beginning of October 2012. Took a shoplifting course as the judge suggested and just completed it. I have the certificate now what is the process to expunge this so I can start applying for employment ?

Many states have a waiting period of atleast 1 year before a criminal record can be expunged. I have yet to find Florida's statutes on that.

What is your age? Is this a juvenile or adult offense? Certain states have laws that let juviniles seal/expunge sooner than adults.

You can start applying for employment, nothing ever said you couldn't. It will be harder to find work with a record, but certainly not impossible. McD's will hire those with a single charge. Stay away from major retailers, banks, nursing homes/senior living, where a background check is practically guaranteed.

I'm 24 first offense and they made it a juvenile offense. That's what it says on my yellow court papers. This is all new to me. I'm so lost, just want to erase this bad decision and nab a job.

This is what I found. I assume you had a juvenile diversion program.
