What to Do Since Congress Passed the Extension for UI
My question involves unemployment benefits for the state of: CA

I was on tier 1 at the end of December 2012 with there still being a balance on it. I recently called up UI and wanted to make sure that i would still be getting my UI benefits since congress extended it at the new year and the lady said I would be getting my benefits. She also said that there was paperwork being mailed out to cont filing for UI. My question is that do i have to fill out that paper work or can i just still do the bi-weekly webcert online(which would be this sunday 1/13/13 for me) to certify for my benefits like i have been doing in the past? and also do my weekly benefits change since congress extended the extensions or do they stay the same from what i was originally getting paid for? Thanks for your help!

If you receive documents to complete and return, complete and return the documents. Beyond the obvious inference that it could put your continued benefits at risk, we can't advise you as to the legal consequence of ignoring documents you may receive in the future along with the instruction to complete and return those documents. You will of course want to continue to certify your eligibility for benefits.
