    Sexual Abuse Investigation
My question involves police conduct in the State of: KY

Some one reported my brother for sexually abusing my niece when investigators went to her home she told them YES he did sexually abuse her. Well today investigators came and spoke to me. Asked if what she told them that he has sexually abused me as a child was true. I told them yes he did abuse me. They asked all these questions ( im sure there has to be a statue of limitations on me) and wanted all the embarrassing details of my abuse and they asked if there is any one else he could have abused and i told them what i knew.

Question: Whats going to happen now? Will he be arrested, will they keep on investigating? Will i have to go to court to testify? and does any one know in my state of KY for sure if there is a statue of limitations on sexual abuse?

Most likely given credible witnesses to the crime, they will work a case together. You very well could be asked to testify. The prosecutor will discuss this with you first. How old are you?
There's often Victims Advocates that you can discuss this with as well who can walk you through what is going to happen. Start here: http://ag.ky.gov/criminal/victims/Pages/default.aspx

If he is charged with one of the misdemeanor sexual acts on a minor, the limitations period is 5 years from the time the victim turns 18.
If charge with a felony, there is NO TIME LIMIT on when he can be prosecuted.

From what you've told us, they appear to be continuing their investigation.

Kentucky has no statute of limitations for felony offenses.

From what i can tell no he hasn't been charged otherwise id assume he would be in jail, and he is not. I don't know who if anyone else they have spoken with. The detective asked me if i knew any one else he could have "abused" and i pointed him in the direction of 3 others i know that social services and police went to my nieces house on November 4th. I honestly wonder if they couldn't find me until this past week i registered a new car ( my husbands name) all of our bills are paid in our rent i don't have a license or nothing. and we just moved here in October. I live in the same county as my brother i run into him some times at the gas station or store he always asks can he come over and wants my address and ive tried to make sure he doesn't know where i live.
