Statute Of Limitations For Possession Case In Florida
a Buddy Of Mine Was In Florida In 2001.. He Was Stopped And Was Caught With About 5 Grams Of Marijuana And A Couple Of Xanax (alprozalem).. The Officer Did Not Take Him To Jail, Only Said That He Would Mail The Case To Him. Which It Never Showed Up... In 2004 My Buddy Lost His Id On The Way Of The Dmv He Was Stopped And Detained For A Warrant Out Of Florida For Possession..
He Is Curious To Know After What Amount Of Time Elapses Would The Warrant Be Dropped>?>

    Thanks For Any Answers....

The statute of limitations stops running when the warrant is issued.

so My Buddy Will Have To Worry About This Issue Until Its Resolved In Some Fashion??

Also How Do You Feel About The Situation In Which The Case Was Handled?? Him Not Being Taken To Jail, Nor Given Any Kind Of Paperwork On Spot, Nor In Th Email.. Yet Having A Warrant??

Most of the time, when a notice of a court appearance doesn't show up it is because either the defendant provided an incorrect address, or the defendant in fact received the notice and uses "It never showed up" as an excuse for missing the court date. So judges tend to be skeptical of that claim.
