Minor in Possession: Caught Hosting a Party With Kids and Alcohol

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Mass.

Okay so im 17 and i threw a party, there was 50 kids there. We all got brought to the police station. I was the first to leave the station, i had my mother get me. The police told my mother that i was only going to be charged with Minor in possession and they talked very lightly about it and said it would go away. Only one cop talked to my mother, she assumed all the cops would be talking to her and i would be charged with other things. So my mother signed the release papers and i was free to go. I didnt get arrested. The party was at my fathers house and he left me home alone for 2 weeks while he left the country. The paper says i will be charged with being a minor in possession of alcohol, furnishing alcohol to minors, contributing to the delinquency of minors and disturbing the peace.

My mother is angry about the whole situation because the cops told us one thing and they are saying this. So my mother called the police station and they said its still under investigation and they will call her back.

By the way, i didnt drink at the party, i didnt bring any alcohol, and i didnt know any of the kids at my house. I had planned to have like 5 or 6 people over and i guess some kid showed up with cars full of people and it become out of control and i didnt know what to do. When we where at the police station they put all the kids in a room. I only knew like 2 or 3 people and my other friends got away.

My question is do you think im being charged with what the news paper says or what the cops said or did the cops make a mistake and not tell me my charges. But dont they have to tell me what im being charged with. Im going off to an amazing college in 8 months, i have an amazing software engineer internship. My parents can afford a very good lawyer. But i need this to go away. What are the chances of not getting a record either due to the fact that the police messed up and didnt tell me my charges or just with a very good attorney.
I do accept full responsibility, i messed up. But i cant let this affect my future because ive already worked this hard. If anybody has insight please let me know

Also after many kids ran from my house, i managed to get alot into my attic. Locked all doors, shut all lights and shut music off. Then i hid. Somehow the cops gained entrance. I made sure the doors were locked. If that could help me . im not sure
