Caught Shoplifting in California at Sephora
My question involves criminal law for the state of: California
So I was caught shoplifting in the Santa Clara County at Sephora and I am 19. It was about $109 and this is my first offense of anything. I heard that there is a diversion program I can take so it will not show on my record. Can someone explain in detail for me? Is it possible to do online if I do not live in that area? Also I signed a trespassing document and this may be a stupid question, but am I restricted to buying there products online? Or is it just physical trespassing? And is it possible to lower it to an infraction? I know there are many other posts like this but direct comments to my own post makes me feel better. Thanks!
Re: Caught Shoplifting in California at Sephora
You need to stay out of their stores. I'm sure they don't care if you're stupid enough to buy their overpriced products online.
You have little chance of mitigating this without a lawyer.
