What to Do After Getting Caught in Possession of Marijuana

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Michigan

The other night my friend and I were in northern Michigan driving back to Boyne from Petoskey. We were pulled over for smelling of marijuana. They asked if we had weed and I said yes and gave it to them. They searched the car and found nothing else. They gave my friend a warning for driving poorly and gave me a possession ticket. I am an aspiring forensic pathologist.. this cannot go on my record.. I would also like to avoid telling my parents. I am 20 years old and have nothing on my record so far; no traffic tickets or anything. My court date is Dec 19 what do i do?
