Can they do this?
Oklahoma but support order is in Kansas
Kansas court trustees office refigured child support and set a court date to make it official. NCP asked for almost $400 in travel expenses per month. He drives 3 hours to see the children and stays with his parents the entire weekend, so that figure was very inflated. The court ordered him to show up at 10am and prove the travel expenses were legitimate. I was there at the appointed time, spoke with the judge briefly, and she dropped the travel allowance because he was not there. When I returned home from kansas I had a message on my machine from the court trustees office. The trustee stated that my ex-husband had shown up later and they went ahead and had the hearing. She said the judge had taken it under advisement and would give an answer within a month.
Can they do that? I drove 3 hours to attend the hearing ready , with proof, to dispute anything he said but because he was not present it was not necessary. Then after the judge had closed the case they allowed him to show up later, without me present, and hold another hearing? Don't they have to allow me the chance to be present? This is so frustrating...I would appreciate any help you can give me.

Re: Can they do this?
It's not a good way to have handled things. If you wish you can contact the court and try to have it scheduled for a proper hearing. If you prefer you can wait and see what the judge does then decide how to proceed.
