Do You Have to Be Living on Your Own to Get Emancipated
My question involves juvenile law in the State of: Oklahoma.
I've wondered about emancipation for a while. I understand that it's not used in order to get away from your parents just bc you dont agree with them or don't along, etc.
I've read in various places that you have to already be living on your own to qualify, and that's the part that I'm confused about. Isn't it illegal for a minor (someone under 18, right?) to be living on their own?
Or is "living on your own" meant as in supporting yourself financially, not nessicarily living away from home?

It's both. You need to be living away from your parents, and supporting yourself financially 100%.
Re: Do You Have to Be Living on Your Own
And if I recall correctly, emancipation in OK does not mean what emancipation generally means in other states.
In other words, it generally refers ONLY to allowing a minor to enter into a binding contract.
