Emancipation, how do i go about it?
hi i am a 17 year old male. I have been homeschooled for 9 years, and I am so sick of my home. I have every possible difference with my mother my father takes her side and we fight all the time, she is verbally abusive, and even though she is physically insuperior to myself, she has struck me a number of times recently. I have seen the law regarding emancipation, and I am wondering how i am to go about getting emancipated? i am aware about what emancipation is, i just need help on what i need to be emancipated. what does the court look for in regards to who gets emancipated? what forms do i fill out? please dont send me the same law that you send everyone else, i have read it through several times...

If you're asking questions which are answered in that material, you could stand to read it again. Virginia's emancipation law provides:
Quote:
Quoting Virginia Code § 16.1-331. Petition for emancipation.
Any minor who has reached his sixteenth birthday and is residing in this Commonwealth, or any parent or guardian of such minor, may petition the juvenile and domestic relations district court for the county or city in which either the minor or his parents or guardian resides for a determination that the minor named in the petition be emancipated. The petition shall contain, in addition to the information required by
§ 16.1-262, the gender of the minor and, if the petitioner is not the minor, the name of the petitioner and the relationship of the petitioner to the minor.
What justifies your being emancipated? How will you support yourself independently? What living arrangements have you arranged? How will you manage your personal and financial affairs? What track record or evidence do you have that you are capable of managing your personal and financial affairs, or that you are sufficiently responsible to live without adult supervision?
