Interstate Relocation While My Driver's License is Restricted
My question involves a driver's license issued by the State of: North Carolina
I was convicted for level 2 DWI in North Carolina 4 years ago this December and am looking forward to getting my license back to continue my education. The school's I have narrowed it down to are in New York or New Jersey and I am wondering what I'll have to do about the ignition interlock device being that the company is only in North Carolina.
Can I get a NY/NJ company based device and it count for NC? Should I/is it possible to get a lawyer up there to transfer my sentence somehow? I would rather not have to drive back every two mouths but I will to take care of my mistakes. My main concern is having the device mess up 500 miles away and I have to tow it back since these things can be finicky.
Thanks

You can contact the North Carolina DMV and inquire whether they will recognize a contract through an out-of-state interlock provider and, if so, what documentation they require.
What do you mean "transfer my sentence"? You're on probation and you want to report in a different state?
