    Juvenile Vandalized a Store Sign
My question involves juvenile law in the State of: Michigan

I am the Practice Manager for a veterinary clinic in the state of MI. An 11 year old boy who lives in the neighborhood behind us was caught stealing sign letters off of our marquee last week. This child is probably responsible for 2 vandalisms to our property earlier this year. (The glass in our front doors and one window were broken twice.) Unfortunately in those cases the only evidence we have is hear say, and the kid hasn't been stupid enough to vandalize our doors and windows a third time since we've posted cameras around the property. His foster mother and the local police are very fed up with this behavior, as are we. His foster mother and my boss would like to know if there are any charges we can bring against him for stealing our marquee letters. The cops here feel that their hands are tied because he is so young, the legal system won't touch him.

Re: Can I Press Charges for Criminal Mischief or Vandalism on a 12 Year Old in Mi
If you are asking whether there is anything you can do that will force the law to take an interest in this kid, the answer is no, there is not. You are free to speak to anyone you like in the police or the DA's office; they are free to decline to prosecute.
