Payment on Judgment Not Being Reported to Credit Agency
My question involves judgment recovery in the State of: North Carolina
When I was 18 I bought a brand new car. I got into some financial issues and it in turn got repossessed. My grandpa was the co-signer on the load. They sold it at auction and i still owed a substancial amount. A few years later we both recieved a judgement letter. I owned absolutely nothing they could take, but my grandpa owns a couple acres of land his house in on. They said they were going to take it from him so my grandmother set up a payment plan. They said if i paid on time for a year they would lower my payment and the total amount owed. I have been paying on it for 2 years now and everytime i call to see if they can reduce it the tell me no. My grandmother handled all of it in the beginning and needless to say did not know to get everything in writing. My question is....Do they have to report payments being made to the credit agency? I just pulled up my report and it looks like i am not even attempting to pay anything on it at all. We never went to court because we set up a payment plan with them before it got that far.
Re: Payment on Judgment Not Being Reported to Credit Agency
A judgment would normally be abstracted as a public record, and thus would be "updated" when a satisfaction of judgment is filed with the court.
