Child Custody and Legal Responsibility of Parent

My 17 year old son was recently "kicked" out of his father's house, Judgement of Divorce specifies that he reside with his father. His father and I have joint legal custody. Almost 2 weeks ago, my son received three misdemeanors from the police officier at his high school. What legal responsibility do I have regarding my son?
