How Can an Owner-Occupant Evict a Roommate
I own my condo and have a roommate living with me since i purchased in 2011, he has been a growing problem. First off he moved his girlfriend into my house with asking or telling me that she was moving in, 2nd both he and his girlfriend use marijuana and i suspect in the house as well as outside, 3rd and most recent and important this morning at 4am me and my girlfriend were woken up to someone in the house. We cautiously came out of the bedroom to find the city police in our house without our knowledge taking my roommate out to search his car and place him under arrest. Not only the fact that we should not have to be woken up at 4am when we both have to work that day for something that should have never been a problem but i am going into law enforcement and actually have an interview with the police dept that was just at my house just hours after they were here. How does that reflect on me?! What can i do? We have no written agreement but he does pay rent monthly. Can i kick him out or ask him to leave by this weekend or do i have to give him notice or evict him?i need help!he needs to go!thank you so much

As you were told when you posted, laws vary by state.

You will need to give him proper notice under the laws of your state.
