Can My Parents Force Me to Quit My Job

i opened one, i had my grandma go lol. and yeah my employer is dumb, but everythings all settled now. infact my parents are in a better mood. i think they got over it.

I think it's just one of those things where my parents were fighting and taking it out on me in stupid ways, my dad even apologized. my grandma yelled at him lol

So i currently have 800$ and my mom's trying to force me to give it to her so she can go dress shopping for my dads anniversary with her, can she legally take my money? i gave it to my friend quick this morning. but she still thinks i have it and she said shes gonna force me to give it to her -__-

I would understand if she was taking my money to save it, but for herself to go dress shopping? come on

Sorry but I don't agree with this...at all. In fact I disagree a bit with most of the posters on this thread...not in all aspects, but here and there.

My dead just threatened to beat the shit out of me. idk if i should call cps or not...i dont want him to like attack me.

i recorded him saying it...if it matters..

he keeps saying to my mom that he's going to. that i wont recognize my face. :(

It's up to you but if you believe he is serious, I would consider calling CPS or the police. If you do, it will likely start a shit storm of trouble for your father. It will upset the family situation. I'm not trying to talk you out of it but before you do, just be sure he isn't simply mouthing off with no intention of following through with it or that it is hyperbole.

He may be mouthing off, but he has done it before, but i just dont want the shit storm to hit me in the face if i start it.


if i called cps and i was placed with a relative or foster home, would i still be able to go to my job if i have a ride and to the same school since im 1/4 done with my senior year?

You may not be placed with a relative. CPS has to investigate any possible household before placing you with anybody. Often times they find it best to remove a child from the family dynamic entirely. Remaining with family often allows access to the child as well as the turmoil created can involve the home the child is placed into.

as far as what you would be allowed to do; work etc: unknown.

school; they would attempt to leave you in your current school.


There are other possibilities though. Your father could be ordered to leave the home, especially of you have siblings at home. It is easier to do that than find placements for all the children.


If your father is considered to be a danger to you, he will be seen as a danger to all children in the home. They aren't going to remove one because they are in danger and leave others there.

It sounds like things aren't quite what you make them out to be. Yesterday everything was peachy keen and dad apologized and today you claim he is threatening you.

We have my little brother, a 15 year old in the house, who has ran away before multiple times and was placed on PINS. and my older brother who is 22

Welp my dad freaked again, this time he locked everyone out of the house in the rain, on halloween ofcourse, not only me he locked my mom and everyone. I just decided to move out, i called the cops to see if i could and explained the circumstances, they let me go in and get my stuff and they took my to my grandma's house, and my mom gave me permission, and the cops said since she gave me permission it's fine.


I'm guessing i only needed partial permission to move out? the cops said because of how my dad was acting he doesn't have a say or something, my mom is making my grandma a legal guardian or whatever. but i guess i'm all done here, im gonna go trick or treating with the boyfriend lol
