Disputing Paternity of a Child Born in Marriage
My question involves paternity law for the State of: California
Hello All,
I recently found out that I am not the biological father of an 11 month old child I had during my current marriage. At this point I do not know what steps to take next because I have never dealt with a situation like this before. My name is on the child's birth certificate but obviously since a DNA test has proven that I am not the biological father can I dispute paternity at this point?
Re: California Paternity Law
I suppose you could. Do you not have feelings for the child? (just asking because I can't imagine loving a child for 11 months, and then just giving him/her up)

Is your current wife actually the mother of the child, or is someone else?
What does SHE think about it?
Was the DNA test court ordered?
Re: California Paternity Law
Assuming this is your spouse's child, are you planning to divorce or remain married?
