Can You Petition for Emancipation of Your Minor Spouse
My question involves marriage law for the State of: nevada
So i was told that i could file for emancipation and it would automatically emancipate my husband too. Theres a spot that says petitioner and co petitioner, is that where i out my husbands name? I dont understand why i have to file for emancipation and it would go for him as well.. Please explain to me. Thank you

Im trying to get him back home to me. Im going to sum it up real fast; we got married, cops came to my house said we needed to file for emancipation because marriage didnt mean emancipation, we go to file were denied becuse they said we were already emancipated, his mom goes to our school pulls him out were at the police station being told once again i have to file for emancipation! I dont get how it is i ready have concent, its legal. Yet they say i have to file again, so if i file it says "petitioner" and "co petitioner" is that were his name goes? And does that mean he will be apart of my emNcipation? I just want my. Est friend home living with me not his mom.

No, his dad signed. We know that in nevada you need only ONE parent consent

Are you talking about the Family Court Cover Sheet?

If so, that is a generic cover sheet that is used for many types of court actions. It is simply a quick source of information for anybody looking for something within the file.

You each must apply separately from what I can find.

Seems to me that someone who thinks they're old enough and mature enough to be married would have investigated all the various legalities before they went ahead. Makes me wonder whether they were thinking with their northern or their southern brains when they decided to play house.

From everything I see, yes. I don't know why it would be any different since you are each individual people. The two become one is only for the Bible.

Thats rude, thats lik judging a book by its cover. We did call down to several people before getting married. They told us marriage is emancipation, i just dont know why the cops are telling me to file.
