Car Towed from Apartment Complex Due to Expired License Sticker
I am just back from a international business trip for which I was away for the last 6 weeks. While I was gone, my vehicle registration was about to expire so I renewed it online but did not get a chance to replace the sticker on my vehicle before I left. My lease agreement with the apartment management states that the vehicle can be towed due to expired license plates after a 10 day notice. My vehicle was towed for this reason and the notice provided was a sticker that was placed on my vehicle. As the vehicle was not being used during that period of time, nobody noticed it to take appropriate action. If the apartment management would have give me a proper notice like send me an email or call me or send a notice to my apartment, something they do for every other issue, I would have had my roommate replace the sticker and take care of the problem. Also, I am not sure whether the towing companies can run license plates to see whether they have been renewed, or whether they are supposed to before towing a vehicle for expired license sticker. I ended up paying a ridiculous towing and storage bill to get my vehicle back on my return to the country.
Can I sue the apartment management or the towing company for this?

You are asked for the name of your state for good reason. And so no one can answer your question with any degree of certainly... But while you consider providing that, where is it stated that "proper notice" must be in the form of a letter, phone call, email or similar?
And what is the exact language from your lease agreement regarding the towing of vehicles with expired registration?

"has no current license, registration or inspection sticker, and we give you at least 10 days notice that the vehicle will be towed if not removed" is what the lease agreement says.

It is Texas, sorry I forgot to mention it earlier.

No problem... Though I'm sorry too but it sounds to me like you have no recourse!
OK, so your car had "no current registration sticker", and that subjects it to being towed... But in addition, even if the towing company were to try and determine whether registration was valid or not, that sill leaves them with a vehicle with an expired sticker.
Lastly, since you didn't answer my question about what they deem as proper notice, it is safe to say that notice on the vehicle itself is sufficient.
