Can You Get a Drug Charge Dropped by Identifying Your Dealer

My question involves criminal law for the state of: ohio

1st i got this minor misdemeanor of marijuana charge.
ok so the cop comes up to me and my friend with his gun out yelling to get against the vehicle we were already out of the car about to walk to a camp site. He looks at us and says I have been doing this for _ _ years and it looks like you are under the influence of marijuana we can do this 2 ways you can help me out and I can help you out by telling me what you have in your vehicle or I can call out a k-9 unit to smell your car. We had marijuana in the car with a bowl so we told him so the officer he says ok your cool about it then 3 more cop cars show up one with a dog he looks searches the car finds the marijuana and the bowl. He comes over and explains that one of us is going to get a minor misdemeanor charge but he is not going to give both of us one and he says I am not telling you what to do but if you plead not guilty at your court date I will talk to the judge and ask to move it to a disorderly conduct. then other cars leave including the k-9 then another cop rolls on up starts talking like we are going to jail and stuff lose are license for 6 month and all this. I was like wow dude the other cop never said any of this. Well he says if I give him the guy who sold it to me well I told him my old dude and stuff gave him a tone of information and he keep telling me he needs more then gave me his business card saying if I had more to call him then the 1st police officer who was cool about it says if you call and give him more we can work on dropping the charge.

Here is my question one I don’t want to pay for 2 court charges plus the fine is it worth trying to get it to a disorderly conduct?
Will I lose my license if I just pay the ticket?
If I call the cop and try to find more info on the guy I feel like he is still not going to do anything he will just say he needed more
I read that I could lose my financial aid for college.
Should I pay to talk to an attorney about all this?
Will I have to put it on job application?
Will it hurt the shot of me joining the armed forces?
What about job applications in the future will this show up on back ground checks?
And last but most important Can I get it expunged?

If you don't want Misdemeanor Marijuana charges on your record....you should talk to an attorney.

Yes, the charge can kill your college financial aid. It can definitely hurt chances of going into the armed forces, also. Yes, it can affect finding employment.


A lawyer may be able to get you into a First Time Offenders program....but you only get one chance at that. So I strongly suggest you ask yourself if marijuana is really worth what you could lose, and do you want to continue using an illegal substance?
