Can You Enter on VWP After an Overstay
I entered the US several years ago with work visa and overstayed by several years. I was working, paid taxes and lived like any other normal person. I recently returned to my home country and now wanting to go back for a friends wedding. Is there any way I can enter US under visa waiver program as a tourist? Can I apply for a visa through US embassy here? Planning for a 2 weeks stay. Thanks all for your help! Cheers.

You likely have a 10 year ban from entry into the US on any visa without first obtaining a waiver. Nothing you have stated meets the requirements for a waiver.

Overstay renders you ineligible for VWP. Also, as noted above, an overstay of several years will, when detected, trigger a ten year period of ineligibility.

Thanks for the info. Is there any chance that my overstay did go "unnoticed"? Can I find out prior to actually flying in if I can enter US or not?
