Can My Pregnant Girlfriend Get Emancipated
My question involves juvenile law in the State of: Indiana

My girlfriend (16, turns 17 on 11/20) and I (turned 18 on 9/18) have a 5 month old child together. She and her mother fight a lot and it causes much stress on my girlfriend. Also, I'm only allowed to see my child once a week and it's dependent on whether or not she has a doctor's appointment.

My girlfriend's mother has been a horrid mother to her. My girlfriend has two brothers (one is 14, the other is 11). The 11-y.o brother is autistic and my girlfriend has to take care of him and take care of our child. The 14-y.o brother does nothing to help around the house, or to help with his autistic brother.

Long-story short: My girlfriend wants to get emancipated, but as far as I know there are no emancipation statutes in Indiana. How can we go about getting her emancipated?

You aren't going to, under the conditions you outlined. In fact, mom is not required to let you around her or the baby absent a court order. You are clearly a corrupt influence on her. Her mother needs to teach here more responsibility. If she had done so earlier, she would not have gotten knocked up. Wanting to lay around and have sex with you is not grounds for emancipation. I suggest instead of wasting everyone's time here, you Google "emancipation Indiana statutes". I'm sure if you are smart enough to figure out sex, you can figure out Google.

    Wait until 11/20/2013. : )

(I really wish the mods wouldn't change the names of these threads. For a while I thought people were actually posting these odd names...)

You can convince her parents to consent to marriage, assuming your girlfriend is interested. Beyond that, she's still legally a child and even if your state had an emancipation statute she would be a terrible candidate for emancipation. A history of poor judgment showing a need for more, not less, parental supervision; no means of supporting herself, let alone herself and a child....

If you want to establish greater visitation rights to your baby, assuming the present arrangement is informal, you may attempt to do so through the court system.

You can't. It really is that simple.
