Can a Sex Offender Keep Her Custody Rights

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Michigan
My boyfriend has a daughter who is now 6 years old. Her mother went to prison for a Tier 3 CSC 3rd degree (under 13) charge two years ago. She is getting out now and I'm really worried about her mother being able to get some type of custody back. I've seen what this little girl went through while she was at her mom's. My bf has sole physical and legal custody. Is she going to be able to get custody when she gets out? I'm worried about her getting 50% custody, or over nights, or anything like that. What about even visitations? The only way I would be okay with that would be if they were supervised by maybe her sister, or an officer of the court. Can you tell me what can happen???

Was the child the victim?

That is very, very true!

But because it's so Very Early and I am feeling Most Kind, I suppose we can put this to bed now before it turns into four pages of "It IS my business..." "You're a legal stranger" "No I'm not" "Yes you are" back-and-forthing. :cool:

If the child in question was actually the victim of Mom's sexual abuse, Dad should have immediately moved for a termination of her parental rights. If that isn't possible, the most she would be able to get is supervised visitation.

If the child in question is NOT Mom's victim, then depending on the circumstances it is possible that Mom could eventually get the standard unsupervised visitation plan. And yes, even joint custody.
