Our Car Was Towed to Clean the Lot, We Weren't Given Notice

My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: Colorado.
We went out to buy lunch today only to find that our car was towed! We went and talked to the property manager who claims that notice was given on Friday the 14th. We left for work at 5:15 am that morning (we share the car so we both leave at the same time, no roommate). We went to a friend's house after work and didn't return until 10 pm that night. There was no notice on the door. There wasn't a notice when I left for work on Saturday morning at 6:15, or on Sunday morning at 6:15, or on Monday morning at 5:15. There wasn't anything on the door any of the days when we returned home.
I'm not saying that the landlord did not provide notice, maybe she did. But our hallway is outside, so it could have blown away. Our neighborhood is also questionable, so maybe some delinquent thought it would be funny to take the notice off our door.
There is no clip on the door that the landlord can put a piece of paper in. The landlord claims it was taped, which would make it easy for the wind to blow it away, especially on the top floor. Now we have to wait until tonight for my dad to bring us the money, and he gets off after the towing company closes, so we'll go pick up the car tomorrow with an added overnight fee. We're losing $160 for the time we won't be able to work.
We are not stupid and we are more than happy to move our car in the event of cleaning, the parking lot really needed it. Are there any laws saying that tenants with outside hallways need clips on the doors to securely fasten the paper notices? What can we do to get reimbursed for the parking lot?

How many vehicles were towed? If yours was the only one, odds are the notice went out and was distributed in a reasonable manner. If dozens were towed, it suggests a problem with notice.
