Caught shoplifting with friend in Michigan
Well it was really stupid of me falling into peer pressure.. But i did.. I know ill never do it again.. nor really hang out with my x-friend now.. but it was in a mijers and he opened up 2 Mp3 players' both about 30$ or so 32 at max in price.. He opened one and stuck it into his pocket. He set one down and i picked it up. and stuck it into my pocket we both left they caught him and then cop got me when i was outside waitin by his car. I went in side after showing the cop, i didnt want to lie to get my self any deeper then it already was.. So we go inside they take my name were i live and my phone # same for him im 15 hes 16.. After that i heard mijers people adding up the total.. Then we all left.. and the cop said you guys will be going to court but i still havnt heard anything.. so i really dont know whats going on.. What can happen to me.. Will i get a less punishment for not actually opening the packs..? or will we both get the same? And is it really certian we're going to court, I was at his counsin house doing a lan party sorta thing .. So im not to sure what to do really.. Ive gotten nothing in the mail.. at all its been about almost 2 months now. Help me im still scared off my ass!:(

If this is your first offense, most likely what will happen is, your parents will have to pay money to the store that you stole from, and you will have to go to a program about stealing (at least my daughter did, when she did it). Do your parents know? If not, tell them now before they find out by recieving the bill. Yes, if the officer told you that you are going to court, then you are, but things get backed up, and sometimes the District Attorney just sends a letter telling you what your punishment is, to not waste taxpayers money on court. Good luck to you! Oh, and yes, your punishment will be the same as your friends.

Since it is your first offense, you probably won't face much more than the monetary damages (which your mom will be responsible for, so don't do it again for her sake!) You may also face some sort of program designed to alter a teenagers way of thinking that stealing is cool, and maybe some community service, this is up to the prosecuting D.A. As I stated before, the D.A will probably not take this to trial, it costs to much for a first offense. I hope you have learned your lesson, and never do this again! They are usually very mean on a second offense!
