    Moving States with Adjudicated Probation
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Texas to Illinois

I am currently on probation for a felony theft. I have been on it for 2+ yrs with a 6 yr probation term.
I have been and are currently paid up with my restitution and all fees. I have not had any problems thus far.
I am wanting to move to Illinois with my best friend and her family.
I need to get away from Texas...

Is it a possibility that they will allow me if
    1) I have a secure job
    2) my health is not good
    3) have a stable place to live

What is the best way to approach this?

    Thanks

ask your PO. S/he may know the process for applying to request Illinois accept the transfer. If not know the process, at least be able to give you a contact in Illinois for you to investigate it yourself.

Oh, and of course, ask your PO if s/he will allow the transfer.

The PO is where to start. They will make the application under the interstate compact. It can take several months (the sending department sends the info to the receiving department who writes a new probation plan and sends it back to the sender who hopefully approves it and then sends it back to the receiving department).

From expirience of interstate prob they will also charge you and u have to wait from state to see if your approved and if your not then you lose the transfer fee

Talk to your PO. You start by paying a transfer fee to move. If IL accepts you, you're good. If they don't you lose out on that money and don't get to move. But back to being accepted by IL... You will have to pay off you lawyer(if you had one), pay off the probation office, court fees and treatment fees(if you had any). May have other fees to pay. From what you put down, they should accept you. Good luck!
