Pothead Roommate Only Living in House for One Day, Refuses to Leave
My question involves an eviction in the state of: WA
There are four of us on a lease renting a man's house. One turned out to be a drug addict and thief and luckily he agreed to leave when we asked him to.
So yesterday my roommates found a new roommate on craigslist. He was told absolutely no drugs in the house allowed. He agreed and moved in last night. I believe my roommate had him sign a tenant agreement and I'm not sure what was on it, but he is not on the lease.
Last night I came home and the house reeked of.marijuana. when I asked him about it he said he has his green card, which legally permits him to smoke marijuana. I told him the deal was absolutely no drugs in the house and he needs to leave. However, he is refusing to leave.
What can I do? If needed, I will move out myself. I am trying to obtain a position in law enforcement and I can't be living with potheads.

The laws do vary by state. You will need to look up your own. Or go to your County Clerk. You'll need to read the terms of the tenant agreement.
In most cases, there is a requirement of so-many days notice. I know in Michigan, it is typically 30, however, there is a shorter time period for drugs or issues that effect health/safety. So your pothead roomie may fall into that category, again check your state laws and see. You would just need to fill out some paperwork.
I'm not having luck finding Washington's laws. However - I'm sure just like Michigan, they require a notice, properly served; and you cannot cut off utilities, change locks, now touch roomies property.
