Will My Name Change Be Reflected on My Children's Birth Certificates
My question involves name change laws in the State of: Colorado

I will be having my full named changed soon and I would like to know if my name change will also be changed on my children's birth certificates, not just my own. Or will my original name remain on theirs? If it stays the same on my kids' certs what do I have to do to have it changed?

    Thanks so much in advance!

No, you are only changing your name. You will need to apply with the court, similar to what you did for your name to have your name changes, but there are some specific rules to follow (notification of the other parent, and if there's a custody/child support order in place, it has to be filed with that court).

ron, I believe she is speaking of her name and how it appears on her children's BC's. She doesn't appear to be asking about the children's names, just hers.

Ah, in that case, here's where to look: http://www.courts.state.co.us/Forms/...orm_Type_ID=26

Birth certificates do not automatically change even in that case. You should call the number listed on that page, but I think all you need to do is fill out the correction form and provide the court order for your name change.
