How Does 'Last Month's Rent' Work
My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: Washington

Month-to-month lease. When I signed, I paid for 'Last month's rent'. If I give verbal and written notice on August 30 (20 days notice required in WA state) With the intention of being moved out by October 1st. Am I responsible for paying rent in September?

My understanding is, LMR is for the last month of occupancy; in this case: September.

Is there some reason you believe your landlord will argue that you owe rent for October?

If not, and you gave proper notice to end your tenancy and prepaid your last month's rent, then that rent goes to your last month of occupancy. Even if the rent has since increased.

    Thank you for the responses.

No reason yet to think there'll be an issue. I just wanted definitive clarification.
