What's the Penalty for Furnishing to a Minor in California
My question involves criminal law for the state of: California

Last night myself, and a group of friends were out and about. My friend(who purchased the alcohol) ripped the box and beer flew everywhere. We were scrambling to pick them up, when a female friend offered to help. I handed her two beers, when an undercover cop saw and I was given a citation. I've read that the minimum is a 1,000 dollar fine and community service, however I also read it may not be that much. My record(until now) was squeaky clean, so I'm curious what to realistically expect from the judge? Also, a box that said "Booking Required" was checked. What does that mean? Thanks in advance.

We're talking only B&P Code Sec. 25658? Then if convicted you will face a maximum $1,000 fine and will be required to perform not less than 24 hours of community service in either an alcohol or drug treatment facility or at a county coroner’s office.

Consult a local lawyer with the full facts, and see what sort of resolution he might be able to work out with the prosecutor's office. I'm not going to speculate about the plausibility of your claim, beyond noting that the officer apparently thought this involved more than the "female friend" helping you pick up the cans.

Booking involves the taking of mugshots and fingerprints.

I had a bit of an attitude, I think that's why they wanted to give me the citation so badly. I appreciate the knowledge.
