Speeding Ticket While on Probation for a Class C Misdemeanor
My question involves criminal records for the state of: Texas
Okay so I got a Class C Misdemeanor for shop lifting at Wal-mart about a month ago. Now I got a speeding ticket for going 42 on a 30. The fine is $200 and I'm prepared to pay for that. Now the problem is I got deferred disposition from that Class C Misdemeanor. I am no where near completing the 6 month probation. Will the speeding ticket hurt my deferred disposition situation? Should I do defensive driving so the ticket won't show up on my record?
The way I see deferred disposition is basically unsupervised probation, so again, will this speeding ticket affect my misdemeanor staying on my record? This situation makes me depressed. Should I be getting ready to get an expungement? Can I even get an expungement? Please and thank you.
    If it helps I:
    -Went to jail.
-Paid off the debt doing community service

We don't violate for traffic infractions in my state. If you had contact with law enforcement, you should contact your probation department and tell them so. Random background checks are run, so they'll know anyway. That way you can get your questions answered by the people that actually influence your life. For me, the speeding ticket would not be a problem.

I have never heard of a traffic infraction being a basis of probation violation. Here in Indiana traffic violations are considered civil, not criminal matters.
