Odds of Beating an Assault Charge
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Quebec
hey i am involved in a case where i am charged with assault there was a fight at a restaurant and this kid got jumped by somebody i know then the kid went on facebook and looked at the persons friends and saw my picture and said i am one of the guys who hit him now i have to go to court i went in for questioning didnt tell the police anything kept my mouth shut the guy has no witnesses its just his word against mine this is really not fair i have to pay for a lawyer and everything the justice system is really messed up when someone has to go to court over somebody pointing fingers with no evidence and no witnesses my lawyer said i have 75% chance of winning it depends on the judge i also have a record for drug trafficking and aggravated theft but this time i really have nothing to do with it in your opinion what are my chances of winning?
