Can You Recover Land Stolen Over a Centry Ago
My question involves civil rights in the State of:

My Great Grandfather inherited a lot of land when he was 18 years old. This was in the 1920's. His father was murdered. He was threatened that if he didn't give up the land they would murder him, too. This was close to 100 years ago.

I could maybe come up with a police record that he had been murdered, maybe a death certificat,e maybe tax records...idk

Do I have any kind of civil case with what I could get through public records?

After @100 years? A case against who? Is the land still owned by the descendants of the alleged murderer? What proof do you have of the alleged threats? Just because it is a fact that your great-great-grandfather was murdered does not mean the rest is.

If so, it's time to write a book about it because you aren't getting the land back.

Not only do you have the fact you cannot prove what you claim, there are likely many owners since then that would have a valid claim to the property via adverse possession.

In simple terms; you aren't getting the land
