I Never Signed a Lease and I Need to Get Out
My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: Florida
Okay this may be long but I really need help. I just moved out this morning from my townhouse that my fiance and myself have been living in for about 4 months. He never signed a lease but according to my ex roommate he was put on the lease because he was given a photo copy of his ID and a pay stub. My fiance has never seen the lease and has asked to see it for about the first 2 months that we lived there. Last night my roommate left me a nasty voicemail(which i still have) stating that i have to find a place in a month and we were kicked out, which by the way was because of a fight that neither of us were involved in. Well today we went into our townhouse and started moving everything out and my roommate came to us and had written up a contract stating that once we sign it that we will pay the last month rent for breaking the lease (which we didnt do they did) and then we will be free to go. WELL they broke the lease in the beginning by having a dog when we were clearly told that we were not allowed pets. So we refused to sign that contract and now they are saying if we dont pay the rent for next month that they are going to "do things". We shouldnt have to pay more money when we were the ones being kicked out. Please someone give me some great advice. :wallbang:

When your fiancé asked the landlord, "Am I on the lease or am I just an occupant," what did the landlord say?
