Failed to Stop at a Stop Sign, Got 2 Points
My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: Maryland

I ended up having 2 points and a fine for not properly stopping at a stop sign.

Will the points be taken off once I pay the citation or do I need to go to traffic school.

Will the points cause my insurance premium to go up.

    Thanks

If you plead guilty to a traffic violation, you get points.

You can see if the court will consider a driver improvement program, perhaps with dismissal at the end of the program. Your state does not appear to follow the traffic school model of the few states that, for most routine tickets, allow it pretty much as a matter of course and dismiss on proof of completion. You can also see if the prosecutor will offer you some sort of deferral or other deal that allows for reduced points or the avoidance of points.

The impact of the points on your insurance premiums depends upon the rating system used by your insurance company.
