Speeding Ticket in California, 90 mph, VC 22349
My question involves traffic court in the State of: California
I recently received a speeding ticket for going 90mph on the I-210E nearby Rancho Cucamonga going down a hillside where speed adds up in the carpool lane.
The odd part was the officer pulled me over after pacing my car for a quarter mile, by which time I slowed down to 65, and then proceeded to pull me over. He indicated on the ticket 90 mph in 65mph zone and checked the radar box as well. I'm not an expert, but does the CHP have to do a visual when they have the radar?
Anyways, I am wondering how I can approach this situation with a reduced fine with traffic school or no fine at all. I plan on requesting the radar calibration records Monday morning, and I have another month before the trial date. Is there anything else I should do to prepare or do TBD?
Thanks!

He paced you? You mean he followed behind you before he turned on his lights? Probably running your tag prior to the stop. Yes, they will normally do a visual and confirm it with the SMD. What makes you think he didn't do a visual estimate?

The Cali-Gurus will be by shortly but from what I've seen reading on here, 22349's are nigh on impossible to beat. You're not likely to beat the fine and traffic school makes it more expensive usually.

I just want the amount reduced and take traffic school such that no point goes on my record. I appreciate all the help.

Then you can appear in court on the date shown on the citation, pay whatever fine amount the judge orders you to pay and ask (and pay the additional fee for) traffic school.
Re: Speeding Ticket California for 90mph 22349 or 22347
Thanks to TG, he corrected my math for me. At 25 over the speed limit, you actually may have a chance to go to traffic school, but reduced fine? Not gonna happen and you'll have to pay the traffic school administration fee AND pay the school.
Re: Speeding Ticket California for 90mph 22349 or 22347
how much will this cost total?
Re: Speeding Ticket California for 90mph 22349 or 22347
Fines increased for violations after 7/15 (or maybe it was 7/10) but somewhere in the $500 range by the time you are done.

damn...too much, I need a reduction or strategy to reduce the costs?
Re: Speeding Ticket California for 90mph 22349 or 22347
Fines are statutory.... reduction? On what basis? Because you think it's too much? Welcome to CA.

Simple, stop speeding. And you will save on gas money too...
